Genealogy Workshop takes place May 1 at 10:30 a.m. Susan Koelble, a professional genealogist, will lead a workshop on genealogical research and assist attendees with their own research. Register online or by phone.
Read to Lucy the Bulldog on May 1 from 4:30 to 5 p.m. Bring your favorite book or borrow one of the library’s and read to a new four-legged friend. This program is for all ages and walk-in.
Prenda Coding Club meets on Wednesdays May 1, 15 and 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. Learn how to code websites, apps, games and more through self-paced, fun projects. Recommended for fourth-grade and up. Participants must be able to work without adult assistance on projects. The library invites those who wish to work independently to bring their own laptop, though it will provide laptops for shared use. This is a walk-in program. The library will host a showcase in the spring where participants can show family and friends what they created.
Color Your Way to Serenity takes place May 2 and 16 at 1 p.m. This is an adult coloring program. Meet your new best friend while enjoying tea and treats.
Spring Book Sale takes place May 3–4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The semi-annual Used Book Sale will be held in the Mary Exum Room. Hard and soft cover books, children’s books, cookbooks, magazines, audiobooks, puzzles, CDs and DVDs will be sold. There will be a $5 bag sale May 6–10. Donations in good condition are needed. No encyclopedias, National Geographic magazines, textbooks or video and cassette tapes.
Backyard Bash takes place May 4 at 11:30 a.m. Come share stories and pictures from nature adventures in Tyler and Tamanend Park. Having attended a nature walk is not required for this event. Each family will receive a copy of the book Barnyard Banter. Paint kindness rocks and enjoy tacos (meat and vegetarian options). Register online or by phone.
Q&A with YA author Chelsea Ballard takes place May 4 at 3 p.m. Ballard will answer questions and discuss the writing process, how she was published, working with other authors, her future works, and read a segment of her short story Remedy. She will sign purchased copies of the short story anthology Masquerade: Oddly Suited: A Collection of YA Romance Stories. Buying a copy of the book is optional.
Music and Motion with Ms. Nancy takes place Mondays May 6 and 20 at 10:30 a.m. Ages birth and up are invited to sing, dance and move with the professional music teacher who is experienced in parent-child music programs. This is a walk-in program until full.
All Ages Story Hour takes place Tuesday, May 7 and Fridays May 3 and 24 at 10:30 a.m. Come listen to stories, create crafts, sing songs and play with educational toys. This program is for ages birth and up and walk-in.
Teen Board Game Club meets Tuesdays May 7 and 28 from 5 to 6 p.m. Come socialize and play fun, challenging board games with friends. Walk-ins welcome.

Tea with the BBC takes place May 8 at 2 p.m. Watch episodes of Victoria while enjoying tea and scones. Register online or by phone.
Beer & Board Games at Moss Mill Brewing Co. takes place May 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. at 109 Pike Circle, Unit D, Huntingdon Valley. Play board games with family and friends and enjoy some craft beer. The library will provide games, but attendees can bring their own as well. There will be a tournament with prizes from the library and brewery. All ages welcome.
Synagogues of Philadelphia takes place May 8 at 6:30 p.m. Join author Ira Poliakoff as he talks about his latest book Synagogues of Philadelphia. Program will include a 40-minute talk, Q&A session and sale of autographed copies of the book. Register online or by phone.
