The United States Association of Collegiate Fencing Clubs will hold its national championships on April 6–7 at the Sportsplex, 1331 O’Reilly Drive, Feasterville-Trevose. The public is invited to watch the athletes. Admission is free.
The event is hosted by Liberty Fencing Club, in partnership with Visit Bucks County. The USACFC College Fencing National Championships are the largest collegiate fencing tournament in the world, with more than 40 men’s and women’s teams competing in both individual and team events in the Epee, Sabre and Foil categories. The championships will be among the largest sporting events hosted in Bucks County this year.
The event was last held in the area in 2015 at Bensalem High School, and hosted by Liberty Fencing Club of Warrington. The 2015 event was such a success, USACFC decided to return to Bucks County.
More than 40 colleges and universities from across the country will be competing, including Bryn Mawr College, Drexel University, Rutgers University, United States Military Academy, George Washington University, Boston University, United States Naval Academy, UC Berkeley, Virginia Tech, Clemson University, University of Florida, and more.
“Bucks County looks forward to welcoming back the fencing community to our area this April,” said Jerry Lepping, president/COO of Visit Bucks County. “This region is an ideal location for sports tournaments, with numerous indoor and outdoor sports facilities, lodging properties, restaurants and attractions to accommodate athletes and their families. We are thrilled to host the tournament again.”
