Attend a STEM Career Fair and learn about credit scores

Do you enjoy helping others, or solving interesting and challenging problems? Does working on practical problems using creative solutions hold appeal? A career in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) could be a great choice.
Students are invited to explore possibilities for their future career and educational pursuits at the STEM Career Fair at the library from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 28. Local businesses highlighting what makes their institutions unique include Silver Lake Nature Center, Solvay USA Inc., Advent Design Corporation, CareerLink GED, St. Mary Medical Center, and more.

A credit report can affect many financial decisions a person makes. Credit scores can influence car loans, mortgage rates, and job offers. Representing the Urban Affairs Coalition, Nelson J. Acevedo will present âBuilding and Maintaining Good Creditâ at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10. During this event, participants are introduced to credit reports, including where to find them, how to decipher them, and how your credit determines eligibility for loans. This class will also focus on repairing credit report histories through sound financial practices.
