Longterm school directors are being honored across the state by the Pennsylvania School Boards Association at local board meetings. School directors are recognized for years of service from eight to 36 years.
Bensalem Township School District recognized and honored Heather D. Nicholas for 12 years of service. She was presented with a certificate, adding her to the PSBA “Honor Roll of School Board Service.”
Nicholas served as a PSBA Representative to the Federal Relations Network. She has also served on the following committees: Bensalem Education Foundation, Charter School, Instructional Affairs, Business, Technology, Facilities, Bucks County Technical High School, and Just for the Kids Education Foundation.
“Mrs. Nicholas has been a tireless advocate for the children of Bensalem,” said superintendent Sam Lee. “Her 12 years of service on the Bensalem Township school board has seen the introduction of full-day kindergarten, a massive renovation of our high school combined with expansion of program options including district-wide STEM, a career pathways model, and professional development platforms like our partnership with The Franklin Institute for neurosciences. All of this in the most challenging times for public education.”
