Delaware Valley University is hosting its first Women’s Summit on Sunday, April 14. The event will be a power-packed day of empowerment, learning and networking for college and university women. The event is open to any current students from area colleges and universities, and there is no cost to attend. Guests are required to register in advance.

The Summit aims to aid women in developing a greater sense of identity and a plan of action surrounding their field of study and passions. With topics including identity and leadership development, participants will work on a variety of self-exploration activities while being invigorated with new ideas and strategies for success. The Summit’s schedule features multiple breakout session options and networking opportunities.

The keynote speaker, Khalia Deborah, of Khalia Deborah Coaching, will present on her movement “Dreams to Founder.”

“As a woman, there is a certain kind of strength and innovation that you have that is unmatched,” she said. “Simply break the mold of what women are seen to be capable of. The way the world thinks does not always mean that is what is destined for you. It is time to stand up, create a vision for your life, develop the plan, create solutions and opportunities, and change this world one community at a time in your own innovative way.”

DelVal faculty and staff will provide workshops. The university will also host presenters from the community and neighboring colleges and universities. Topic areas will include professional development, feminism, identity and intersectionality, and self-care.
