Spring Equinox — Full Moon Night Hike Campfire will take place Friday, March 22 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Join SLNC for a special night on the Silver Lake trails after dark. The hike will begin at the Visitors’ Building, continue to the Earthship and finish with a campfire and marshmallows. Cost per person is $8 for Friends of Silver Lake, and $10 for non-members. Register by phone, online or in-person.
Friends of Silver Lake’s Annual Meeting & Volunteer Recognition will take place Saturday, March 23 from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet the Friends of Silver Lake’s new and current board members, and honor volunteers who work hard all year to keep the national treasure so beautiful. Summer Camp Open Houses will take place Saturday, April 6 and Saturday, May 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to meet staff, ask questions, get to know the Nature Center, and enter to win a free week of camp. White House Chef Tour will take place Saturday, April 13 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Chef Guy Mitchell and Chief Petty Officer Woody Raber are returning for an encore performance. This year’s event will be held at Falls Manor, 4010 New Falls Road, Bristol. Cost is $50 per person until March 25, then $55 per person. Ticket price includes a show by the chefs, a buffet lunch and cash bar. Go online, call or stop by SLNC for tickets.
