The following was submitted by superintendent Dr. William Gretzula:

Dear Pennsbury Community Stakeholder,

In this atmosphere of challenge and change, we are inviting you to help us ensure a bright future for our School District. An inclusive, democratic and transparent comprehensive planning process represents an expression of faith in world-class public education and reflects the continued quest for excellence in Pennsbury.

The future is at the forefront as the Pennsbury School District begins a new comprehensive planning process. A three-year plan, as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, will enable us to focus keenly on our instructional programs and the comprehensive supports that we will provide to our students.

Pennsbury has long been a pioneer in public education. The planning process is an opportunity to fortify our strengths, address our most important needs, to think creatively, and ultimately, to demonstrate our capacity for educational leadership. We seek your participation and wisdom in this process.

You are cordially invited to participate in our upcoming Pennsbury Community Conversation. This process will enable us to create a blueprint for the next level of excellence in teaching and learning in Pennsbury. Representatives being invited to participate include parents, community members, School Board members, professional and support staff, administrators, and students.

As a result of this planning process, the district’s mission, vision and values will be confirmed and goals will be developed or revised to ensure that careful consideration is given to the strengths and needs of all students as we strive for continuous improvement in the years ahead.

The Community Conversation will take place Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the William Penn Middle School cafetorium. The school is located at 1524 Derbyshire Road in Lower Makefield Township.
