Area bookworms are invited to join Delaware Valley University students, faculty and staff during the spring semester to discuss books that explore the human connection to plants. This spring, the club will discuss four books related to the intersections of plants, people and history.
The discussions will be led by assistant professor of plant science, Dr. Sarah Dohle, and electronic and instructional services librarian, Karen Sheldon. The group is open to the public at no cost. Club members meet in the DelVal library from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Community guests are welcome to attend any of the meetings.
The schedule includes: Never Out of Season: How Having the Food We Want When We Want It Threatens Our Food Supply and Our Future by Rob Dunn on Thursday, Feb. 7; The Invention of Nature by Andrea Wulf on Thursday, March 7; Bringing Nature Home: How You Can Sustain Wildlife with Native Plants by Douglas W. Tallamy on Thursday, April 4; and American Eden: David Hosack, Botany, and Medicine in the Garden of the Early Republic by Victoria Johnson on Thursday, May 2.
