Bucks County Community College is hosting an information session for its Locomotive Engineer and Conductor Basic Training Program at the Epstein Campus on Feb. 2

Bucks County Community College invites the public to “Career Tracks in the Railroad Industry,” a free information session on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks.
The session provides an overview of what to expect if you enroll in the college’s Locomotive Engineer and Conductor Basic Training Program, beginning Feb. 16, in partnership with NJ Transit.
The 65-hour introductory course prepares students to apply for a training program to become an engineer or conductor on a freight or passenger rail line. Engineers can earn a training salary up to $53,000 a year, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. After training and certification, which takes about two years, salaries range from $60,000 and higher.
The free information session, from 9 a.m. to noon on Feb. 2, will explain more about the 11-week course. The Locomotive Engineer and Conductor Basic Training Program meets from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on 11 Saturdays from Feb.16-May 4 (no class April 20) at the Epstein Campus, located at 1304 Veterans Highway in Bristol. Tuition is $999.
