Enjoy a historical presentation, Kids Nature Day and more this month

Homeschool Enrichment Series — Winter Session runs every Tuesday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. through March 2019. The series is an option for families who take a different approach to educating their children ages 6–18. Each of the lessons are developed with the PA Standard Aligned System (SAS) in mind and ensure that children will excel in all settings. It is important children dress for the weather and are prepared to get dirty.
Full Moon Night Hike, Full Wolf Moon will take place Friday, Jan. 18 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Join SLNC for a special night on the Silver Lake trails after dark. The hike will begin at the center, continue to the Earthship and finish with a campfire and marshmallows. Cost is $8 for members, $10 for non-members.
History of Silver Lake Presentation by Local Historian Clarence King will take place Saturday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. Back by popular demand, King will do a presentation on the history of Silver Lake, which will also include Bristol Borough and Bristol Township, spanning the past 300 years. Cost is $5 for members, $6 for non-members. Proceeds will benefit the Friends of Silver Lake Nature Center nonprofit organization.
Kids Nature Day will take place Monday, Jan. 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each unique nature session is offered on a weekday that school is closed. 6–13 year olds are invited to join SLNC to explore the trails, play games, make crafts, visit with animals and more. Before and after care available. Pre-registration required. Cost is $50 per day, or $40 per day for members of Friends of Silver Lake Nature Center.
Wild Animal Signs of the Woods will take place Saturday, Jan. 26 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wild animals leave behind all types of signs that give us clues to their behaviors. During this expedition, participants will learn how to examine animal signs and how to make a plaster cast of a footprint to take home. All ages welcome. Cost is $2 for members, $3 for non-members.
