Learn new recipes and taste new foods during ‘What’s Cooking at the Library’
The Times
Would you like to learn new recipes, try new kitchen equipment and taste new foods? Southampton Free Library is proud to introduce a new monthly program, What’s Cooking at the Library.
The first program in the series will be offered on Jan. 5 at 2 p.m. and will focus on Super Bowl snacks to help attendees get ready for the big game. Library staff will demonstrate how to make various Super Bowl appetizers such as buffalo chicken dip, hummus and mac ‘n cheese bites and offer samples for tasting.
February’s offering will focus on soup, with the library holding its first Souper Bowl at 1 p.m. on Feb. 2, the day before the Super Bowl. Library staff will make different homemade soups for patrons to taste. Vote for your favorite. Recipes will be available for all the soups.
Throughout the rest of the year, What’s Cooking at the Library will explore a variety of subjects ranging from craft beer brewing to vegan cooking to cake decorating. Most programs will be held on Saturdays with a few on weekday evenings. They will be held downstairs in the recently remodeled demonstration kitchen.
