Bensalem students selected to music festivals

A number auditioned and were chosen to perform at the Bucks County Music Educators Association festival and Pennsylvania Music Educators Association festival, both taking place in March

Several Bensalem High School music students successfully auditioned and were selected to the Bucks County Music Educators Association county-wide festival taking place in March. They now have the opportunity to work with some of the best conductors in the tristate area, and perform high-quality literature with some of the best student musicians in Bucks County.

More than 400 students from 21 high schools auditioned, including 29 from Bensalem. The following 17 students were accepted:

• Brittany Hood, soprano (ranked 1st)

• Emily Ralston, soprano (ranked 4th)

• Danielle Sharpe, alto

• Michael Mangraviti, bass

• Ian Colville, bass

• Theresa Nguyen, flute

• Maddie Stone, clarinet

• Ryan Brown, saxophone

• Dan Fauni, trumpet

• Josif Collazo, trombone (ranked 2nd)

• Aaron Harris, percussion (ranked 5th)

• Josh Toala, percussion

• Royce McKelvey, percussion

• Alysha Delgado, violin

• Stephanie Feyh, violin

• Luki Chen, violin

• Patrick Le, viola

In addition, several Bensalem High School music students auditioned and were selected to the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association county-wide festival taking place in March. They also have the opportunity to work with some of the best conductors in the tristate area, and perform high-quality literature with some of the best student musicians in Pennsylvania.

They include:

  • PMEA District 11 Choir: Emily Ralston, Jayda McKelvey, Brittany Hood
  • PMEA District 11 Band: Kelsey Patterson — Flute
