Bristol Riverside Theatre starts the new year with the American classic On Golden Pond by Ernest Thompson, running Jan. 22-Feb. 10. The play is directed by BRT founding director Susan D. Atkinson. Previews begin Tuesday, Jan. 22 with opening night set for Thursday, Jan. 24.
The cast features BRT favorites Keith Baker (Quartet, Old Wicked Song) as Norman Thayer Jr., Eleanor Handley (Lost in Yonkers, Witness for the Prosecution) as Chelsea Thayer Wayne, Michael Satow (Time Stands Still) as Charlie Martin, Danny Vaccaro (The Producers, Rumors) as Bill Ray, and newcomers Jeanne Lehman (Broadway’s Beauty & the Beast) as Ethel Thayer and Henry Parker as Billy Ray.
On Golden Pond is a humorous and heartwarming play about love, reconnection and family. After an unexpected relationship blooms, a family reunites during an unforgettable summer.
Performances of On Golden Pond run Tuesday through Sunday until Feb. 10. Tickets start at $33, with discounts for students, groups and military personnel.
