Keep the kids and yourself entertained with these fun and free programs
The Times
Are you looking for something fun and free to do the week between Christmas and New Year’s? Southampton Free Library will be offering a variety of programs to entertain all ages.
Starting on Dec. 26, school-aged children ages 8 and up are welcome to participate in the library’s Slime Lab at 2 p.m. They can create their own ooey-gooey slime, decorate the container it goes into and enter it into a slime contest category. Prizes will be awarded for best sounding slime, prettiest slime, etc. Register each child attending individually online.
On Dec. 27, all ages are invited to interact with the classic movie Princess Bride from 2 to 4 p.m. Become an active participant by blowing bubbles, having glow stick sword fights and responding to characters during the screening of this beloved classic. Please register online.
On Dec. 28, celebrate the Noon Year. Starting at 11:30 a.m., celebrate the end of 2018 by singing songs, playing games and enjoying movement activities with YoYo from the interactive duo, Lolly and YoYo. The program is recommended for children ages birth-8. Walk-in until space is filled.
