On Saturday, Nov. 10, the Fighting RoboVikings, FRC team 2607 from Archbishop Wood, hosted their 2nd annual “GIRLS In STEM DAY” event for the Junior and Cadets Girl Scouts from various troops in the community.

The goal of the day was to share the love for STEM with girls and boys through the various events the RoboVikings host or attend each year as a FIRST Robotics team. The RoboVikings have also done demonstrations to the Boy Scouts at their 5th Encampment Boot Camp in Philadelphia.

This year’s theme was “Welcome to the Jungle.” The day was spent going to different stations making arts and crafts and learning about women in STEM, and approximately 30 girls attended.

Next year’s GIRLS in STEM DAY is slated to take place Nov. 9.
