Parx Casino recently announced the on-stage return of rock-and-roll legend Roy Orbison. Performing his greatest hits and accompanied by The Philly Pops, the iconic musician will return with In Dreams: Roy Orbison in Concert — The Hologram Tour. Julian Frampton, Peter Frampton’s son, will open the show.

“This is going to be a milestone moment in the live entertainment space and we are excited to present it to the public where audiences are not simply watching a show, but are drawn into an ultra-realistic experience where fantasy becomes reality by suspending disbelief,” said Brian Becker, founder and CEO of BASE Entertainment and BASE Hologram.

Through cutting-edge digital and laser technology and extraordinary theatrical stagecraft, this first-of-its-kind live concert sees Orbison brought to life on stage. Recognized universally as one of the great rock-and-roll legends, Orbison’s catalog includes chart-toppers such as “Oh, Pretty Woman,” “You Got It,” “Only the Lonely,” “Crying,” “I Drove All Night,” “It’s Over” and “In Dreams.”

This tour, directed by Eric Schaeffer (Broadway’s Million Dollar Quartet), will allow fans the chance to experience one of the most iconic figures in the history of music in a thrilling way as Orbison and his trademark three-octave range voice comes back to the stage he commanded for decades.

“I’ve seen first-hand the impact artists like Roy Orbison have had on today’s generation,” said Schaeffer. “What many younger music fans may not realize is just what Orbison meant to his industry and our musical culture. He was an amazing songwriter, singer and performer who is responsible for a stunning catalog of hits. This production is about putting the spotlight back on the creative genius of Roy Orbison and to be able to share it with all the generations.”

“My father had a special transcendent vocal ability that made him something of an anomaly in the world of pop and rock, but that’s what endeared him to his fans,” said Alex Orbison, president of Roy Orbison Music. “For our family, it was an amazing emotional experience to see this for the first time and we know audiences worldwide will have the same reaction.”
