Lower Southampton’s John McMenamin celebrates retirement

McMenamin is retiring after serving as chairman of the board of supervisors for four and a half years and six as the township manager

John McMenamin (third from left) was honored with special commendations for his dedicated years of service to Lower Southampton Township during his retirement celebration held at Brookside Manor at Somerton Springs in Feasterville.

Presenting citations from the Pennsylvania Senate and House of Representatives, Lower Southampton and an American flag that flew over the Capitol in Washington, D.C. were members of the board of supervisors Ed Shannon, secretary/treasurer, Keith Wesley, chairman, Ray Weldie, supervisor, and Joe McFadden, vice chairman who also served as emcee for the evening.

McMenamin is retiring after serving as chairman of the board of supervisors for four and a half years and six as the township manager. Prior to serving in Lower Southampton, he had a distinguished career as a Philadelphia firefighter, which included three terms as president of Local 22 of the firefighters union.

Some 100 family members and friends, township officials and employees and invited guests were in attendance.
