Vocalist Stearns Matthews will perform cabaret favorites in a free concert at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in New Hope on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 3 p.m. An award-winning vocalist, Matthews has recently appeared at The Town Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Feinstein’s 54 Below and The Metropolitan Room.
Matthews’ critically acclaimed debut album SPARK won the 2015 Bistro Award for Outstanding Recording and the LaMott/Friedman Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs Award for Outstanding Recording. He also won the 2015 MAC Award for Best Male Vocalist.
Matthews has performed regionally in musicals with the Highfield Theatre, Philadelphia Music Theatre Works, Women’s Theatre Company, and the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. His 2017 release of Maury Yeston’s “December Songs” marked the first recording of the song by a male singer.
