Bucks County Community College, which has been bringing renowned authors and speakers to the region for more than 50 years, invites the public to “An Evening with Author/Entrepreneur Lisa Scottoline” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Newtown Campus.
Scottoline, who began her writing career in 1986, will speak for an hour, followed by a book signing of her latest title, After Anna, a copy of which is included with the purchase of a ticket. However, supply is limited.
Scottoline is a New York Times bestselling author of 31 novels. She also writes a weekly column with daughter Francesca Serritella for the Philadelphia Inquirer titled “Chick Wit,” a witty and fun take on life from a woman’s perspective.
Scottoline began her legal career with a clerkship for President Judge Edmund B. Spaeth, Jr. of the Pennsylvania Superior Court. When the clerkship ended, she joined Dechert, Price & Rhoads in Philadelphia as an associate. In 1986, she left the firm to raise her newborn daughter and began writing legal fiction part-time. Her writing career began with her first best-selling novel, Everywhere That Mary Went, published in 1994 by HarperCollins Publishers. More than two-dozen top-selling titles followed.
The event is a preview for the college’s second-annual Women’s Summit on Entrepreneurship. The summit consists of a full day of speakers and workshops from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the Upper Bucks Campus in Perkasie. To learn more, visit http://entrepreneurship.bucks.edu/summit2018.
