Bethanna receives gift from Giant Food Stores

The funds will be used to help fight hunger in Bucks County

The Jesus Focus Ministry Food Pantry at Bethanna has received a donation of more than $4,300 in gift cards from Giant Food Stores. The Pantry is the local partner in the Giant Bag Hunger campaign, and the funds come from customer donations at the Giant Food Store in Southampton.

Bethanna’s President and CEO, Karen Hamilton-Derry, said, “Bethanna is thrilled to once again have the support of Giant and its customers in the fight against hunger in our community.”

The Jesus Focus Ministry Food Pantry has been serving Bucks County for 30 years, having moved to Bethanna in 2016. Last year, more than 180,000 pounds of food were donated, and the Pantry provided nearly 14,000 meals for children, adults, and seniors. The gift from Giant will be used to purchase food to fill in areas where donated items may be in short supply.

The community can join in this effort by participating in Bethanna’s Race Against Hunger, a 5K and 1-Mile Family Fun Run that will support the work of the Jesus Focus Ministry Food Pantry at Bethanna. This event is on Saturday, October 20 at Tamanend Park in Southampton, and registration and information can be found at www.bethanna.org/5k
