It has been said that a “kiss is still a kiss.” If so, what does one say about kissing a pig? Find out on Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 5 to 7 p.m., when a pot-bellied pig will be kissed by local business and community leaders in an effort to raise awareness and funds to support financial literacy programs in local schools. The kisses will take place at TruMark Financial Credit Union’s eighth annual Kiss-A-Pig financial literacy fundraiser at Abington Art Center, 515 Meetinghouse Rd., Jenkintown.

The fundraiser is a component of TruMark Financial’s initiative, Building Financial Futures. The fundraiser brings together educators, community and business leaders, and credit union employees to raise money for the privilege of kissing a pig. Funds raised at this event will allow area schools to provide students with the tools needed to learn the basics of personal finance. This information will help them to make informed financial decisions and help to secure a future of financial success.

Admission is free and all are invited to watch the participants pucker up for a worthwhile cause. MORE 101.1 FM radio personality Bill Tafrow will be the event emcee.

The following businesses will be sending participants to pucker up at Kiss-a-Pig:

  • Kershner Office Furniture
