Penn Community Bank recently announced a new partnership with Cairn University.
As the official bank of the university in Langhorne, Penn Community Bank will serve the campus community by providing banking opportunities for students, faculty, and staff through an on-campus, restricted-access branch which will open in late August.
Cairn University and Penn Community Bank also are exploring potential internship and employment opportunities for Cairn students, as well as ways to promote ongoing financial literacy efforts, which is a core focus of Penn Community Bank.
“Surveys reveal that 76 percent of college students wish they had more help in preparing for their financial futures,” said Jeane M. Vidoni, Penn Community Bank president and CEO. “That’s why, as an independent, mutual financial institution, Penn Community Bank is focused on meeting the financial needs of our community, including those of students and young adults. Penn Community Bank is proud to partner with Cairn University and expand its commitment to promoting financial literacy for the next generation and beyond.”
“Penn Community Bank’s commitment to excellence is evident in their banking services, their customer support, and their community involvement. I am pleased not only with the service to our institution, but also to our students who will now benefit from on-site banking,” said Dr. Todd Williams, Cairn University president.
The partnership initially was launched with Penn Community Bank’s title sponsorship of the Cairn University Golf Classic held at Philadelphia Cricket Club in Flourtown. The annual golf event raises funds for The Cairn Fund, which allows more than 90 percent of Cairn’s students who are eligible for need-based aid to receive scholarship funds.
