Villa Joseph Marie High School in Northampton Township received a $1 million grant from the state, according to Sen. Tommy Tomlinson (R-6th dist.).
The grant was awarded to renovate both the north wing of St. Joseph’s Hall and the school’s main hallway to develop state-of-the-art STEM facilities and collaborative learning spaces. This grant is in addition to the $500,000 the school received last year for other schoolwide projects.
The grants were awarded as part of the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, which is administered by the Pennsylvania Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.
“Villa Joseph is an exemplary institution. These grants will go a long way in improving their STEM educational facilities and creating a space for the benefit of the entire community,” Tomlinson said. “This is one of a number of community initiatives that will improve the quality of life for local residents. Each of these projects will not only support new jobs in the community, but will also ensure Bucks County remains a great place to live, work and raise a family.” ••
