Credit union donates much needed supplies to food pantries

TruMark Financial Credit Union launched a food drive to help local food pantries, including Bucks County Opportunity Council in Bristol, replenish their supply of non-perishable items

Bernadette Bayuk, TruMark Financial Northbrook branch manager, and Nikita Patel, member service representative, help Bucks County Opportunity Council representative Robert Sesisto load the van with donated boxes of non-perishable food items for the Council’s network of food pantries.

TruMark Financial Credit Union employees launched a food drive this summer to help local food pantries replenish their supply of non-perishable food items. Donations typically decline during the summer months due to vacation schedules so the food pantries welcomed the delivery of items such as macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, jelly, cereal, and beans.

The following food pantries were the recipients of the donations:

  • Bucks County Opportunity Council, Bristol
  • Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard, Glenside
  • Ardmore Food Pantry, Ardmore
  • Chester County Food Bank, Exton
  • BCHG Community Food Pantry at Doylestown

Eileen Albillar LSW, volunteer and community connections manager, Bucks County Opportunity Council, was grateful for the donation and said 86 pounds of donated food would provide approximately 68 meals for people in the Bucks County food pantry network.
