As part of the last 2nd Friday event in the summer entertainment series at the historic 110-acre Playwicki Farm, 2350 Bridgetown Pike in Feasterville, officials of the Playwicki Farm Foundation joined with federal, state and local government representatives in conducting a special salute to area veterans.
Participating in the special program (from left) were Rose McMenamin, president of the Playwicki Farm Foundation; John McMenamin, Lower Southampton Township manager; PA State Rep. Frank Farry; Joseph McFadden, Lower Southampton Township supervisor; U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, who presented an American flag which had previously flown over the Capital in Washington, D.C.; Ray Weldie, Lower Southampton Township supervisor; John Olsen, a Vietnam veteran and farm foundation volunteer; Matt Gilbert, director of the Lower Southampton Parks and Recreation Department; Fran Mishkinkash, branch manager for the American Heritage Credit Union in Feasterville, lead sponsors for the 2nd Friday series; Christine Ferrara, vice president of the Bucks County Tour of Honor; Ryan Hall, American Heritage business development representative; Susan McGinley, American Heritage business development manager; Joseph Szafran, chairman of the Bucks County Tour of Honor; and Deborah Bachovin, a farm foundation board member.
The Bucks County Tour of Honor’s mission is to honor veterans of World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
Pictured in the back row are members of the David Christopher Orchestra who provided entertainment for the event which also featured area food vendors, fine spirits, games, first responders and craft vendors.
