Wheelabrator Technologies presented the library with a $7,000 check to help fund a digital sign on Bridgetown Pike

Wheelabrator Technologies gave the Township Library of Lower Southampton a big boost toward its purchase of a digital sign on Bridgetown Pike. As part of Wheelabrator’s Corporate Community Support Program, Mike Dougherty, marketing manager, presented the library with a $7,000 check at the June 13 meeting of the Lower Southampton Township board of supervisors.
“We are thrilled and thankful to Wheelabrator for their generous support,” said Dennis Stranz, library director. “This digital sign is an essential part of our new marketing efforts. Bright, clear graphics go a long way in attracting passersby and advertising the wonderful services and programs at our library. Many in Feasterville are surprised we offer museum passes and teen escape rooms and board games. We’ve just started our fundraising efforts and this donation is a great leap toward our goal.”
Wheelabrator Falls is an energy-from-waste facility using everyday waste from local homes and businesses to provide dependable, environmentally safe disposal of up to 15,000 tons of waste daily. This produces as much as 35 MW of electricity — enough for 41,000 Bucks County homes and businesses, as well as Wheelabrator’s own operations.
In the past, Wheelabrator has funded such area projects as the Farm House Kitchen project at Playwicki Farms and the Prenda Coding Club at the Free Library of Northampton.
