The Owls made history this season by winning their first PIAA District 1 baseball title and making their inaugural appearance in the state tournament.
Unfortunately, they fell one victory short of earning statewide glory, losing to District 7’s Canon-McMillian, 10–3, in the Friday, June 15 Class 6A final at Penn State’s Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. They battled back from a 3–0 deficit to tie the score, but a tough seven-run fifth inning made the difference.
The Owls were perfect for seven postseason games, with a 23–4 record overall earning the following titles: 2018 PIAA State Finalist, District One Champions, and Suburban One League Champions.
The team was honored by Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo, township council, school district administrators and staff, proud family members, and members of the community at the Penn Community Bank Amphitheater on June 19.
The Owls were also recognized by the board of school directors and district administrators at the June 27 board meeting.
