The annual bocce challenge between the James E. Kinney Senior Center team and Northampton Township Supervisors team took place on June 19 at the courts of the Senior Center, 165 Township Road in Richboro.

Seven-time defending champs the Seniors, comprised of Janet Tomkins, Bob Pavie, John Konstantis and Pete Palestina, took on the Supervisors, comprised of Barry Moore, Eileen Silver and Kim Rose.

Past challenges always took place during Northampton Day, but was changed this year in order to make it a singular, separate event.

The contest was a best-of-three game with the winner being the first team to win two games. The Seniors won the first game 11–4 and the second game 11–1, thereby retaining bragging rights for the eighth consecutive year.

Prior to the match, Supervisors chairman Moore gave his team 10 to 1 odds to beat the Seniors and put up $100 to Palestina’s $10 with the winner donating to the charity of choice. The $110 was presented by Palestina to Senior Center manager Sheila Jobs.
