The field appears set for the May 15 special election in the 178th Legislative District.

The seat has been open since former Republican Rep. Scott Petri resigned to become executive director of the Philadelphia Parking Authority.

The Republican candidate will be Wendi Thomas, a Northampton Township resident who serves on the Council Rock School Board.

The Democratic candidate will be Helen Tai, a Solebury Township supervisor.

The Green Party candidate will be Adrienne Taffoni Morgado, a retired teacher from Wrightstown who worked for the Bristol Township School District for more than 30 years. She is regularly involved in protests on environmental issues such as stopping fracking and the PennEast pipeline. ••
