Matt Gilbert, parks and recreation director, recently announced registration for the Lower Southampton Township summer day camps is now being accepted.
Gilbert said he is gearing up for an exciting, enriching and energetic nine-week experience for area youngsters from June 18 through August 17.
“This year’s camps will feature a full share of recreational and fun activities, crafts, instructional enrichment and entertaining cultural excursions,” he said. “Our programs have been meticulously designed to allow every child the opportunity to grow and mature through a series of professionally supervised programs and activities embracing physical development, socialization, teamwork and camaraderie.”
An additional week of camp will be made available through August 24 for families who are interested.
Camp will be divided into a series of age-segmented groups starting with the Pioneer Camp for children ages 3 to 5-years, which will be located at Russell Elliott Memorial Park on Buck Road. Discovery Camp for ages 5 to 12-years and 7 to 12-years will run simultaneously at two locations, the Dolphin Swim Club, 260 West Bristol Road, and Joseph E. Ferderbar Elementary School, 300 Heights Lane. Teen Camp for ages 13-years plus also will be located at the Dolphin Swim Club.
In addition, there will be a Counselor-In-Training Program for teens 13-years and beyond which also will be housed at the Dolphin Swim Club and Ferdebar Elementary School.
“We’ll have a terrific and genuinely enriching program for youngsters of all ages, however, I encourage all parents to register early to assure that their child will have a place in our program,” Gilbert noted.
In 2018, special Summer Day Camp resident rates will be offered to all people residing in Lower and Upper Southampton Townships and the 19053 zip code.
