Back in November, we introduced you to Sharon and Michael Freibrun, the proud owners of Bucks County’s very first Beef Jerky Outlet. Located at 110 Lincoln Highway in the Oxford Point Shopping Center in Fairless Hills, the snack paradise celebrated a soft opening on Nov. 16 with the Freibruns attracting a steady clientele ever since.

Now, the husband-wife duo is kicking things up a notch with a grand opening celebration on Saturday, Jan. 27, which is set to feature discounts, prizes and more.

From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., customers will enjoy a variety of one-day specials. For $25, they can purchase three 4-ounce bags of jerky, normally $9.99 each. Free Beef Jerky Outlet drawstring bags will be given with every $50 purchase, and free T-shirts will be given for every $100 purchase while supplies last. A drawing will be held to win free jerky for a year, a $500 value. Additional prizes will be announced closer to the event.

Active military and first responders (police, fire, EMT) will receive a 10 percent discount, an offering they can take advantage of all year round. Customers are also welcome to make a donation to the Emergency Relief Association, a local food bank.

“We are grateful and humbled by the overwhelming, positive response from the local community. Before we opened, we were hopeful we would do well, but did not expect this,” Sharon said. “Thanks to all who have shopped with us. We look forward to everyone’s continued patronage.”

In case you haven’t had the pleasure yet of experiencing the Beef Jerky Outlet, or are a little hesitant about all things meat, we’ve provided a breakdown of what to expect.

Upon entering the store, customers are met with wall-to-wall packages of almost every jerky variety imaginable. Overwhelming, right? Not as long as you have a Freibrun by your side. Everyone who walks through the front door is personally greeted by either Sharon or Michael, who guides them through each of the strategically organized “zones,” which include classic, sweet and hot.

Local flavor: As its name suggests, dozens of jerky varieties are available at the Beef Jerky Outlet. To help customers navigate, the Freibruns guide them through the store, encouraging them to taste miniature samples to see what they like before committing to a purchase. SOURCE: Beef Jerky Outlet

Each section contains its own barrel of miniature jerky samples, which customers are encouraged to taste as they move through the space.

“Our store has a unique shopping experience where you get to try it before you buy it,” Sharon said.

The Freibruns help each individual customer explore their palate to see what they enjoy before committing to a purchase. Available options include dehydrated and smoked, a prime rib jerky and tender honey barbecue.

For those who are more adventurous, especially local hunters, there is a special exotic meats section featuring jerky made from kangaroo, alligator, venison and elk.

Even if a customer tries every available variety and doesn’t find the perfect jerky fit, they don’t need to leave empty-handed. The store also sells snacks such as popcorn and peanuts, barbecue and hot sauces as well as pet treats for furry family members waiting at home.

“There’s something for everybody,” Sharon said. ••
