There’s finally a good reason to get up before the crack of dawn this weekend.

For more than four years, Bryant M. Greene’s “Did You Know” has been a staple on the local radio airwaves, providing resources and advice to listeners of all walks of life. In December, Greene expanded the talk show’s reach to include both listeners and viewers, transforming it into a public access television show.

“Did You Know” can now be seen in Pennsylvania and New Jersey on Channel 4-TV on Saturdays from 4:30 to 7 a.m. and Channel 190-TV on Sundays at 5:30 a.m. The radio show will continue to air as usual on Saturdays on WURD 900 AM and 96.1 FM from 4 to 5 p.m.

Though his schedule (and sleep cycle) will certainly be affected as he serves simultaneously as radio and television host, Greene is thrilled to deliver the message of “Did You Know” to a wider audience. At its heart, the show will remain unchanged despite the new format.

“It’s connecting people to home, community and business resources they wouldn’t know about otherwise,” Greene said.

Just like the radio show, the television edition of “Did You Know” is sponsored by Always Best Care Senior Services of Philadelphia, Bucks and Delaware Counties and the Main Line and Always Best Care Delaware. Greene is the owner and administrator of both franchises.

With his professional background in senior care services, a portion of “Did You Know” is dedicated to issues concerning the elderly population. To kick off the television show, each episode throughout the month of December was dedication to the Alzheimer’s Association, an organization Always Best Care is a longtime supporter of.

A number of experts appeared as guests to discuss Alzheimer’s as it relates to caregiving, among other useful topics. The show touched on real-life situations, welcoming locals to reflect on their own experiences caring for a loved one with the disease.

Greene said he plans to continue this format moving forward, focusing on a different topic each month. While upcoming themes are related to health and seniordom, such as the Lupus Foundation, viewers can expect a wide variety.

The informational broadcast will touch on drug and alcohol rehab issues, insurance coverage for both young and old, caring for animals, food insecurity, extermination of bed bugs, business tips and advice for those recently released from incarceration. Experts in each respective area will be featured to help educate viewers and connect them with resources if needed.

Unique to the television edition of “Did You Know,” Greene will emphasize the arts and entertainment, featuring local poets, musicians and dancers from The Philadelphia Dance Company.

“They might not be big names, but they’re local talent that have something to show,” he said.

As Greene immerses himself in the world of television broadcasting, he’s holding fast to his initial vision for “Did You Know,” something that came about by chance. A little more than four years ago, Greene was invited to speak on a friend’s radio show about the services at Always Best Care.

After receiving an unprecedented amount of positive feedback from listeners, a number of professionals in the field suggested he create his own radio show. It was a career route Greene hadn’t previously considered, but one that would allow him to share information and resources to his community on a larger scale.

Now a triple threat business owner, radio and television host, it’s safe to say his risky endeavor paid off.
