WirePOLITICS: Petri to host open house events at New Hope and Richboro offices

Tom Waring, the Wire

State Rep. Scott Petri recently relocated his Richboro district office, and opened a new satellite office in New Hope to accommodate constituents new to the 178th Legislative District following redistricting.

To introduce his constituents to the resources and services he and his staff offer, Petri welcomes constituents to open houses he will be hosting this month.

“Legislative redistricting, which occurs every 10 years to adjust for population shifts and ensure proper representation, changed the boundaries of my legislative district, adding the borough of New Hope and Solebury Township,” he said. “This expansion made it necessary for me to open a satellite office in New Hope to better assist constituents in the northern portion of the district.”

“I was able to negotiate a lower rental cost at the new Richboro location. Both offices combined represent a cost savings over my former Richboro location and enable me to provide better coverage.”

Petri invites residents of New Hope, Solebury, Carversville and Lumberville to his open house in New Hope on Saturday, March 5, from 10 a.m. to noon. The office is located at 123 W. Bridge St., across from the New Hope-Solebury High School athletic fields. Regular office hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Petri will hold an open house at his Richboro office at 1038 Second Street Pike, in the Old Richboro Schoolhouse, on Thursday, March 10, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Regular office hours at that location are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Petri and his staff offer assistance to constituents regarding state-related matters. His office also provides various state forms and applications for PACE/PACENET, voter registration, motor vehicle registration, birth and death certificates, higher education assistance and the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program.

The 178th Legislative District includes the townships of Northampton, Solebury, Upper Makefield and Wrightstown and the borough of New Hope.

Petri had been seeking the Republican nomination in the 8th Congressional District and was the leading GOP candidate until Brian Fitzpatrick entered the race. Petri dropped out of that race to run for re-election to the state House.
