WirePOLITICS: State Senate approves hotel and lodging bill

The Pennsylvania Senate has approved Senate Bill 179, sponsored by Sen. Stewart J. Greenleaf, which would consolidate statutes related to hotels and lodging establishments.

The bill is part of an ongoing effort to consolidate all of Pennsylvania’s statutes. Pennsylvania is the only state without completely consolidated statutes.

“Having a consolidated body of laws makes it easier for the public to research and access their laws,” Greenleaf said. “This is a largely overlooked topic, but it can be extremely difficult for a lay person to research some of our state’s laws. We are working to bring all of our statutes under common titles, organized by single subjects.”
