Pennsylvania voters this year will elect three people to the state Supreme Court, and Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge Kevin Dougherty hopes to be one of them.
Last week, Dougherty announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination. He serves as administrative judge of the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court’s trial division.
In a campaign video, Dougherty is praised by Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams and Alba Martinez, former commissioner of the Philadelphia Department of Human Services.
Dougherty has served as a judge since 2001.
The primary election is May 19.
