Earlier today, Kevin Strouse received an endorsement from Bucks County Commissioner Diane
Marseglia in his bid to unseat Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (R-Bucks) in November 2014. Marseglia is the highest-ranking elected Democratic official in the county.
Marseglia said that her decision to endorse Strouse, a former CIA officer and Army Ranger who resides in Bensalem, is based on his ability to bring the “leadership that the voters of the 8th District deserve.”
“Kevin Strouse is a father, husband and dedicated public servant,” Marseglia said in a press release from the Strouse campaign. “I endorse Kevin Strouse because he would bring leadership that focuses on problem-solving, not the broken politics of Washington — leadership that the voters of the 8th District deserve.”
Strouse also has the backing of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, but Marseglia’s endorsement is the strongest local backing he has received, thus far.
““We’re seeing enthusiasm for Kevin’s campaign in every corner of Bucks County,” Marseglia said. “It’s clear that his candidacy has Democrats excited about the chance to retake the 8th District.”
Strouse faces a primary challenge from publisher and former scientist Shaughnessy Naughton.
